The brand India turned 60 on 13 may 2012.Its party time for us Indians. Our Parliament celebrates completion of 60 years of its existence. Over the past 60 years we kept improving ourselves and learned a lot of lessons. There were good as well as worst moments during this journey of a free Nation into a more democratic system. We fought against all odds and still continue. Everything is expected to change with time, and it was same with our Parliament and the Members of Parliament.
The first time Parliament members had there different set of goals and they did there best to fulfill them. The subsequent members also did(somewhat) there best. Meanwhile we had to resist outside powers knocking at our doors after regular intervals. Be it China or our Beloved neighbor, they all made us learn something and in turn helped us in becoming more and more self confident and Independent Nation.
I think all the best things about our democracy will be discussed in details by each and everyone on this occasion. Let me do the devils work by pointing towards a few things that make the picture a little bit gloomy. While the Parliament kept improving in the papers and amendments we as individuals may have not done justice in implementing it to desired extents. Back then the Politicians used to behave like leaders that belong to the poor, while today it might be totally different with politics being a major tool of business and businessmen. There used to be a Character of devotion and service and that has somehow turned into self-promotion and arrogance. Its not true for 100% of them but surely the percentage is very close to that.
Yes we might have all of this negativity about these people in our minds but the democracy has got its other major part failing to fulfill its due. The part we all citizens make up as one Nation. Whatever we say about our systems, administration and officers hierarchy is there because we collectively allowed it to be there. We as citizens may have not been awake enough towards ourRights and Duties.So
Celebrate the day with pride and Honesty in your hearts and wish the brand India many many happy returns of the day.
