Nuclear Power And India

                              Nuclear Power and India
Dear readers, almost each-one of us is in one or the other way affected by or connected to the power sector of our country. all the fluctuations, ups and downs new measure and changes that occur (or are implemented) in this sector effect us and the whole country.
With our steadily growing and rising economy the demand for more power supplies is evident and justified. To meet growing demands governments have been trying their own pranks and tricks. One of them was India entering Independent nuclear power production (Nuclear power plants). Whether it really was a deal to help drowning United states economy or it was a confident government's rational regular decision, the deal is there now. Some of us might even think that the deal made us globally more respected and our presence will now be felt more widely. The big deal was in billion dollars and the UPA1 even had to face confidence vote. How they survived ( by buying selling members like commodities) is another issue that only future can sort out.

In the backdrop of Fukushima-Daichi nuclear plant disaster, if going nuclear is right way out or wrong way in, is something that could be debated and it should be.Especially when we have learned from Japan example that the consequences could reach almost anywhere, government's argument or explanation of building these plants far away from populations might not be enough to satisfy all our worries. In Japan too the rain water carried the radiation to almost everywhere and purest ponds and lakes at greatest heights have got higher level of radiations than that in neighbouring to Fukushima-Daichi nuclear plant region. once accumulated in a water system it just keeps multiplying there for endless times.
I think a society has to collectively debate and decide for itself what is right or wrong for it.Provided we have already decided to go for nuclear plant, we must be ready in our near or distant future for taking up any challenge bravely and confidently. And that reminds me of the issue of operating organization's accountability and the issue should definitely be given its deserved importance.
Another issue, nuclear plant waste or residue, is what we might have to prepare an answer for. As it could lead to leaving our future generations of India with pollutants that are almost impossible to manage.
At last what we must do is try and not repeat a BHOPAL tragedy and then keep waiting for some Mr. X(ANDERSON) to feel guilty and be tried in our courts(that never happened and the hopes are rare).
So most important is to SPEAK UP BECAUSE YOU still CAN.
