Presidential Polls 2012-Mamta Takes U-turn, Supprots Pranab Now

Mamta Benerjee, after all her efforts to oppose Pranab Mukharjee and national  Congress party's presidential polls campaign agreed to support UPA's candidate for the upcoming elections.

Mamta had been consistently and continuously saying that she and her party not take part in these elections and the tension and conflict between the two parties was getting ever higher. Amid all this a
letter from Pranab did the trick. In this letter Pranab requested her to rejoin the elections and asked her support. The experts say that there could be a deal back-doors going on as West Bengal had been demanding a certain package for its economic stability. One can not deny of any such promise being made to Mamta through this(Pranab's) letter.

Every political party might have its own version of the story but one thing is sure,
this incident has made Pranab a clear winner for the 2012 polls and election polls are not needed to showcase his lead now. Meanwhile UPA decided to back current vice-President for a second term and he has filed his nomination too. BJP led NDA front has decided to oppose him and their candidate is senior party leader Jaswant Sinha.

Although the results are very much clear still the political parties are busy in gaining numbers and conveying their message to the respective vote banks. The presidential polls have effected the functioning of government for quite long now and there are certain decisions pending due, due to the issue. And it will be interesting to see how those special packages announced for parties supporting Pranab's candidature be fulfilled.
